Hi, I’m Amber!
My love for travel started at 23, when I quit my job, rented out my flat, and set off for a year of adventure starting in Australia—followed by what was supposed to be one ski season in France.
One year turned into five, and one ski season turned into three! It’s a bit of a cliché, but during those years I really did “find myself.” I discovered the freedom, joy, and personal growth that come from stepping outside your comfort zone and exploring the world.
Along the way, I also found my husband, Dave—fellow travel addict and ski enthusiast. Even after settling down, getting “real jobs,” and climbing the corporate ladder, we’ve continued to chase adventures together.
When our family grew, our wanderlust didn’t shrink. We were determined to bring our kids along for the ride. During the preschool years, we adapted our travel style—think fewer hostel dorms and more apartments, static caravans, and family-friendly hotels.
Then came the next challenge: travelling during school holidays without blowing the budget.
We’ve now almost made it through the primary school years, and ironically, I think we’ve travelled more than ever! With a bit of planning, deal-hunting, and creative budgeting, we’ve had some of our best adventures yet—often discovering the heart of a place in ways we might have missed otherwise.
Our ethos: Work, Save, Travel, Repeat!
